INGREDIENTS

1kg Karela (bitter gourd)
100gm Onion
250gm Tomatoes
50gm Green Onion chopped
1tbsp Garlic paste
Fresh Coriander leaves

IN DRY MASALA
1tsp Ajwain( only in winter)
1tsp Zeera
2tbsp Vegetable Masala( if u have) or,
1/2tbsp Red Chilli
1/2 Coriander Powder
Pinch to Salt

 

How to make Karela Karahi

• Step 1: Peel Bitter Gourd

To prepare this yummy Karela Karahi, first, peel the Karela, then marinate in 1/2tsp of salt and 3tbsp flour. After 1hr wash them, add dry them and then cut into small pieces.

• Step 2: Fry Karela

Now put oil in a pan. When the oil heats up, put all Karela in a pan, and fry them in low flame until they become light brown. After that, take in a dry bowl.

• Step 3: Cook Vegetables

Put oil in a pan, heat the oil. First fry onion when it becomes light brown, then add garlic paste. Cook for 5min. Now add tomatoes. Cook until tomatoes convert to puree.

• Step 4: Mix Masala

When all-vegetable is cooked, and not add all masala or ( if u have vegetable masala which you quickly found in the market, for good taste, you can also add it ). cook for 5min or until oil separated from vegetables

• Step 5: Add Fry Karela (bitter gourd)

Now add Karela in cooked vegetables, stir for 5min. Add green onion, cook 3min more. Add fresh leaves of coriander.

Your Karela Karahi is ready to be served.

Tips

• You can also use mint leaves to garnish the Karela Karahi.
